2. García Caves.
These Caves, discovered in 1843, will astonish you with their natural formations whose creation began more than 50 million years ago. A three-minute journey up to the Caves by a Cable Car offers magnificent views of the surrounding Mountains.
3. Xempal Zoo. (This Visit is optional)
Entrance costs 35 pesos, or about US$3) Xempal gives you the chance to get to know a wide range of animals at first hand, ranging from hens, cows and sheep to giraffes, zebras and camels. The zoo has a lake, mini-farm and play area. You can feed and caress the animals, sow crops or harvest them, collect eggs and paint them.
4. Casa Rosa Museum.
The museum offers a collection of popular art that includes 160 works created by artisans: textiles, ceramics, jewelry, wood and metalwork, among others.
5. El Ojo Museum and García Village.
The museum offers a collection of popular art from the Mexican states of Oaxaca, Jalisco, Puebla, and Michoacán. Free time in which to enjoy lunch and enjoy the surroundings of this beautiful and traditional Village.
6. Arte san arte Hand craft School.
Here we can see how the students learn such traditional skills as feather-working and embroidery on silk. Students’ products are on sale at very reasonable prices, with proceeds going toward helping them with their studies.
7. Visit to a traditional Bakery.
The bread is delicious and you are invited to try some. This is one of the few remaining bakeries that still use a wood-fired oven, providing the bread with a taste all of its own.
8. The Huasteca Canyon.
The canyon, located within Monterrey’s city limits, consists of an imposing slab of limestone with sliced apart vertically to make it one of Mexico’s most spectacular natural phenomena. Besides its scenic qualities, the canyon presents an exciting challenge to climbers of all levels of competence.
